* gpio: omap_gpio: Fix unused function warning in non-DM caseTom Rini2020-06-161-5/+4
| | | | | | | | | | In the case of non-DM_GPIO the function get_gpio_index() will never be called, and clang will warn about this. Move this to be with the other non-DM code for easier removal later. * dm: gpio: Allow control of GPIO uclass in SPLSimon Glass2019-12-151-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | At present if CONFIG_SPL_GPIO_SUPPORT is enabled then the GPIO uclass is included in SPL/TPL without any control for boards. Some boards may want to disable this to reduce code size where GPIOs are not needed in SPL or TPL. Add a new Kconfig option to permit this. Default it to 'y' so that existing boards work correctly. Change existing uses of CONFIG_DM_GPIO to CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(DM_GPIO) to preserve the current behaviour. Also update the 74x164 GPIO driver since it cannot build with SPL. This allows us to remove the hacks in config_uncmd_spl.h and Makefile.uncmd_spl (eventually those files should be removed). * gpio: Remove DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in various driversBin Meng2018-11-141-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When a driver declares DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag, it wishes to be bound before relocation. However due to a bug in the DM core, the flag only takes effect when devices are statically declared via U_BOOT_DEVICE(). This bug has been fixed recently by commit "dm: core: Respect drivers with the DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in lists_bind_fdt()", but with the fix, it has a side effect that all existing drivers that declared DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag will be bound before relocation now. This may expose potential boot failure on some boards due to insufficient memory during the pre-relocation stage. To mitigate this potential impact, the following changes are implemented: - Remove DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in the driver, if the driver only supports configuration from device tree (OF_CONTROL) - Keep DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag in the driver only if the device is statically declared via U_BOOT_DEVICE() - Surround DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag with OF_CONTROL check, for drivers that support both statically declared devices and configuration from device tree Signed-off-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com> Reviewed-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Patrick Delaunay <patrick.delaunay@st.com>
* DM: omap_gpio: Reduce overhead when used with OF_PLATDATAAdam Ford2018-09-111-3/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | Platforms with limited resources in SPL may enable OF_PLATDATA, this limits some of the library functions and cannot extract data from the device tree. This patch adds additional wrappers around these functions to only allow them when OF_CONTROL is enabled and OF_PLATDATA is not. * gpio: omap_gpio: Convert to auto-alloc feature when DT is supportedAdam Ford2018-07-101-1/+24
| | | | | | | | | | The omap_gpio driver has a TODO that says when every board is converted to DM and DT, the omap_gpio_bind can stop using calloc and switch to auto-alloc. This patch converts this driver to auto-calloc when DT is enabled. Signed-off-by: Adam Ford <aford173@gmail.com>

* SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini2018-05-071-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

| | | | | | | | | | With DM enabled in SPL, DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC is required for the omap_gpio driver to be bound to the gpio devices. Therefore, add DM_FLAG_PRE_RELOC flag to the omap_gpio driver. Signed-off-by: Faiz Abbas <faiz_abbas@ti.com> Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
* dm: gpio: Correct use of -ENODEV in driversSimon Glass2017-10-081-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | In U-Boot -ENODEV means that there is no device. When there is a problem with the device, drivers should return an error like -ENXIO or -EREMOTEIO. When the device tree properties cannot be read correct , they should return -EINVAL. Update various GPIO drivers to follow this rule, to help with consistency for future driver writers. * dm: gpio: Add a comment about not copying some driversSimon Glass2017-10-081-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | These three drivers all use U_BOOT_DEVICE rather than device tree to create devices, so have to do manual allocation of platform data. This is not true for new platforms. Add a more explicit comment so that people do not copy this approach with new boards. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reported-by: Adam Ford <aford173@gmail.com>
* dm: Rename dev_addr..() functionsSimon Glass2017-06-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | These support the flat device tree. We want to use the dev_read_..() prefix for functions that support both flat tree and live tree. So rename the existing functions to avoid confusion. In the end we will have: 1. dev_read_addr...() - works on devices, supports flat/live tree 2. devfdt_get_addr...() - current functions, flat tree only 3. of_get_address() etc. - new functions, live tree only All drivers will be written to use 1. That function will in turn call either 2 or 3 depending on whether the flat or live tree is in use. Note this involves changing some dead code - the imx_lpi2c.c file. * dm: core: Replace of_offset with accessorSimon Glass2017-02-081-1/+1

* drivers: gpio: omap: add support for parsing additional gpio parametersMugunthan V N2015-10-221-0/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | With DM_GPIO, gpio parameters like ACTIVE_(LOW/HIGH) are to be parsed in xlate gpio drivers-ops. Since xlate is not implemented in omap_gpio driver, the driver considers all gpio to be ACTIVE_HIGH which is the default case and fails to return actual gpio status for ACTIVE_LOW gpios. | | | | | | | | | | The "method" parameter was part of the original port of the driver from the kernel. At some point this may have been added to allow for future differentiation (as omap1 and omap2 have different GPIO IP blocks, so this wasn't an unreasonable thing to do). At this point however it's just extra overhead, so drop. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

* ARM: OMAP: GPIO: Fix valid range and enable usage of all GPIOs on OMAP5Axel Lin2013-07-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The omap_gpio driver is used by AM33XX, OMAP3/4, OMAP54XX and DRA7XX SoCs. These SoCs have different gpio count but currently omap_gpio driver uses hard coded 192 which is wrong. This patch fixes this issue by: 1. Move define of OMAP_MAX_GPIO to all arch/arm/include/asm/arch-omap*/gpio.h. 2. Update gpio bank settings and enable GPIO modules 7 & 8 clocks for OMAP5.
