* urldata: simplify bytecountersDaniel Stenberg2019-03-011-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | - no need to have them protocol specific - no need to set pointers to them with the Curl_setup_transfer() call - make Curl_setup_transfer() operate on a transfer pointer, not connection - switch some counters from long to the more proper curl_off_t type Closes #3627
* urldata: rename easy_conn to just connDaniel Stenberg2019-01-111-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We use "conn" everywhere to be a pointer to the connection. Introduces two functions that "attaches" and "detaches" the connection to and from the transfer. Going forward, we should favour using "data->conn" (since a transfer always only has a single connection or none at all) to "conn->data" (since a connection can have none, one or many transfers associated with it and updating conn->data to be correct is error prone and a frequent reason for internal issues). Closes #3442
* FILE: fix CURLOPT_NOBODY and CURLOPT_HEADER outputDaniel Stenberg2018-10-081-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Now FILE transfers send headers to the header callback like HTTP and other protocols. Also made curl_easy_getinfo(...CURLINFO_PROTOCOL...) work for FILE in the callbacks. Makes "curl -i file://.." and "curl -I file://.." work like before again. Applied the bold header logic to them too. Regression from c1c2762 (7.61.0) Reported-by: Shaun Jackman Fixes #3083 Closes #3101
* getinfo: add microsecond precise timers for various intervalsPhilip Prindeville2018-05-171-0/+22
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Provide a set of new timers that return the time intervals using integer number of microseconds instead of floats. The new info names are as following: CURLINFO_APPCONNECT_TIME_T CURLINFO_CONNECT_TIME_T CURLINFO_NAMELOOKUP_TIME_T CURLINFO_PRETRANSFER_TIME_T CURLINFO_REDIRECT_TIME_T CURLINFO_STARTTRANSFER_TIME_T CURLINFO_TOTAL_TIME_T Closes #2495
* time: support > year 2038 time stamps for system with 32bit longDaniel Stenberg2018-01-301-2/+10
| | | | | | | | ... with the introduction of CURLOPT_TIMEVALUE_LARGE and CURLINFO_FILETIME_T. Fixes #2238 Closes #2264
* getinfo: access SSL internals via Curl_sslJohannes Schindelin2017-08-281-26/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | In the ongoing endeavor to abstract out all SSL backend-specific functionality, this is the next step: Instead of hard-coding how the different SSL backends access their internal data in getinfo.c, let's implement backend-specific functions to do that task. This will also allow for switching SSL backends as a runtime option. Signed-off-by: Johannes Schindelin <johannes.schindelin@gmx.de>
* progress: Track total times following redirectsRyan Winograd2017-08-151-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Update the progress timers `t_nslookup`, `t_connect`, `t_appconnect`, `t_pretransfer`, and `t_starttransfer` to track the total times for these activities when a redirect is followed. Previously, only the times for the most recent request would be tracked. Related changes: - Rename `Curl_pgrsResetTimesSizes` to `Curl_pgrsResetTransferSizes` now that the function only resets transfer sizes and no longer modifies any of the progress timers. - Add a bool to the `Progress` struct that is used to prevent double-counting `t_starttransfer` times. Added test case 1399. Fixes #522 and Known Bug 1.8 Closes #1602 Reported-by: joshhe on github
* getinfo: return sizes as curl_off_tDaniel Stenberg2017-06-191-0/+37
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This change introduces new alternatives for the existing six curl_easy_getinfo() options that return sizes or speeds as doubles. The new versions are named like the old ones but with an appended '_T': CURLINFO_CONTENT_LENGTH_DOWNLOAD_T CURLINFO_CONTENT_LENGTH_UPLOAD_T CURLINFO_SIZE_DOWNLOAD_T CURLINFO_SIZE_UPLOAD_T CURLINFO_SPEED_DOWNLOAD_T CURLINFO_SPEED_UPLOAD_T Closes #1511
* timers: store internal time stamps as time_t instead of doublesDaniel Stenberg2017-06-141-8/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | | This gives us accurate precision and it allows us to avoid storing "no time" for systems with too low timer resolution as we then bump the time up to 1 microsecond. Should fix test 573 on windows. Remove the now unused curlx_tvdiff_secs() function. Maintains the external getinfo() API with using doubles. Fixes #1531
* checksrc: stricter no-space-before-paren enforcementDaniel Stenberg2016-12-131-2/+2
| | | | In order to make the code style more uniform everywhere
* curl_easy_reset: clear info for CULRINFO_PROTOCOL and CURLINFO_SCHEMEFrank Gevaerts2016-11-261-0/+3
|
* add CURLINFO_SCHEME, CURLINFO_PROTOCOL, and %{scheme}Frank Gevaerts2016-11-251-3/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Adds access to the effectively used protocol/scheme to both libcurl and curl, both in string and numeric (CURLPROTO_*) form. Note that the string form will be uppercase, as it is just the internal string. As these strings are declared internally as const, and all other strings returned by curl_easy_getinfo() are de-facto const as well, string handling in getinfo.c got const-ified. Closes #1137
* proxy: Support HTTPS proxy and SOCKS+HTTP(s)Alex Rousskov2016-11-241-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * HTTPS proxies: An HTTPS proxy receives all transactions over an SSL/TLS connection. Once a secure connection with the proxy is established, the user agent uses the proxy as usual, including sending CONNECT requests to instruct the proxy to establish a [usually secure] TCP tunnel with an origin server. HTTPS proxies protect nearly all aspects of user-proxy communications as opposed to HTTP proxies that receive all requests (including CONNECT requests) in vulnerable clear text. With HTTPS proxies, it is possible to have two concurrent _nested_ SSL/TLS sessions: the "outer" one between the user agent and the proxy and the "inner" one between the user agent and the origin server (through the proxy). This change adds supports for such nested sessions as well. A secure connection with a proxy requires its own set of the usual SSL options (their actual descriptions differ and need polishing, see TODO): --proxy-cacert FILE CA certificate to verify peer against --proxy-capath DIR CA directory to verify peer against --proxy-cert CERT[:PASSWD] Client certificate file and password --proxy-cert-type TYPE Certificate file type (DER/PEM/ENG) --proxy-ciphers LIST SSL ciphers to use --proxy-crlfile FILE Get a CRL list in PEM format from the file --proxy-insecure Allow connections to proxies with bad certs --proxy-key KEY Private key file name --proxy-key-type TYPE Private key file type (DER/PEM/ENG) --proxy-pass PASS Pass phrase for the private key --proxy-ssl-allow-beast Allow security flaw to improve interop --proxy-sslv2 Use SSLv2 --proxy-sslv3 Use SSLv3 --proxy-tlsv1 Use TLSv1 --proxy-tlsuser USER TLS username --proxy-tlspassword STRING TLS password --proxy-tlsauthtype STRING TLS authentication type (default SRP) All --proxy-foo options are independent from their --foo counterparts, except --proxy-crlfile which defaults to --crlfile and --proxy-capath which defaults to --capath. Curl now also supports %{proxy_ssl_verify_result} --write-out variable, similar to the existing %{ssl_verify_result} variable. Supported backends: OpenSSL, GnuTLS, and NSS. * A SOCKS proxy + HTTP/HTTPS proxy combination: If both --socks* and --proxy options are given, Curl first connects to the SOCKS proxy and then connects (through SOCKS) to the HTTP or HTTPS proxy. TODO: Update documentation for the new APIs and --proxy-* options. Look for "Added in 7.XXX" marks.
* easy: Initialize info variables on easy init and duphandleJay Satiro2016-11-051-2/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | - Call Curl_initinfo on init and duphandle. Prior to this change the statistical and informational variables were simply zeroed by calloc on easy init and duphandle. While zero is the correct default value for almost all info variables, there is one where it isn't (filetime initializes to -1). Bug: https://github.com/curl/curl/issues/1103 Reported-by: Neal Poole
* easy: Reset all statistical session info in curl_easy_resetJay Satiro2016-09-201-5/+14

* http: add CURLINFO_HTTP_VERSION and %{http_version}Frank Gevaerts2016-05-301-0/+16
| | | | | | | Adds access to the effectively used http version to both libcurl and curl. Closes #799
* mbedtls: Fix session resumeJay Satiro2016-04-281-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This also fixes PolarSSL session resume. Prior to this change the TLS session information wasn't properly saved and restored for PolarSSL and mbedTLS. Bug: https://curl.haxx.se/mail/lib-2016-01/0070.html Reported-by: Thomas Glanzmann Bug: https://curl.haxx.se/mail/lib-2016-04/0095.html Reported-by: Moti Avrahami
* getinfo: Fix syntax error when mbedTLSJay Satiro2016-02-281-1/+1
| | | | | The assignment of the mbedTLS TLS session info in the parent commit was incorrect. Change the assignment to a pointer to the session structure.
* getinfo: Add support for mbedTLS TLS session infoJay Satiro2016-02-271-17/+13
| | | | .. and preprocessor check TLS session info is defined for all backends.
* getinfo: CURLINFO_TLS_SSL_PTR supersedes CURLINFO_TLS_SESSIONJay Satiro2016-02-231-25/+32
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The two options are almost the same, except in the case of OpenSSL: CURLINFO_TLS_SESSION OpenSSL session internals is SSL_CTX *. CURLINFO_TLS_SSL_PTR OpenSSL session internals is SSL *. For backwards compatibility we couldn't modify CURLINFO_TLS_SESSION to return an SSL pointer for OpenSSL. Also, add support for the 'internals' member to point to SSL object for the other backends axTLS, PolarSSL, Secure Channel, Secure Transport and wolfSSL. Bug: https://github.com/curl/curl/issues/234 Reported-by: dkjjr89@users.noreply.github.com Bug: https://curl.haxx.se/mail/lib-2015-09/0127.html Reported-by: Michael König

* getinfo: CURLINFO_ACTIVESOCKET: fix bad socket valueJay Satiro2015-11-061-12/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | - Set user info param to the socket returned by Curl_getconnectinfo, regardless of if the socket is bad. Effectively this means the user info param now will receive CURL_SOCKET_BAD instead of -1 on bad socket. - Remove incorrect comments. CURLINFO_ACTIVESOCKET is documented to write CURL_SOCKET_BAD to user info param but prior to this change it wrote -1. Bug: https://github.com/bagder/curl/pull/518 Reported-by: Marcel Raad
* getinfo: Fix return code for unknown CURLINFO optionsJay Satiro2015-10-041-7/+6
| | | | | | | | | - If a CURLINFO option is unknown return CURLE_UNKNOWN_OPTION. Prior to this change CURLE_BAD_FUNCTION_ARGUMENT was returned on unknown. That return value is contradicted by the CURLINFO option documentation which specifies a return of CURLE_UNKNOWN_OPTION on unknown.
* CURLINFO_TLS_SESSION: always return backend infoDaniel Stenberg2015-09-221-5/+3
| | | | | | ... even for those that don't support providing anything in the 'internals' struct member since it offers a convenient way for applications to figure this out.
* getinfo: added CURLINFO_ACTIVESOCKETRazvan Cojocaru2015-08-241-0/+31
| | | | | | | This patch addresses known bug #76, where on 64-bit Windows SOCKET is 64 bits wide, but long is only 32, making CURLINFO_LASTSOCKET unreliable. Signed-off-by: Razvan Cojocaru <rcojocaru@bitdefender.com>
* curl_memory: make curl_memory.h the second-last header file loadedDan Fandrich2015-03-241-2/+2
| | | | | | | This header file must be included after all header files except memdebug.h, as it does similar memory function redefinitions and can be similarly affected by conflicting definitions in system or dependent library headers.
* Bug #149: Deletion of unnecessary checks before calls of the function "free"Markus Elfring2015-03-161-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | The function "free" is documented in the way that no action shall occur for a passed null pointer. It is therefore not needed that a function caller repeats a corresponding check. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18775608/free-a-null-pointer-anyway-or-check-first This issue was fixed by using the software Coccinelle 1.0.0-rc24. Signed-off-by: Markus Elfring <elfring@users.sourceforge.net>
* openssl: remove all uses of USE_SSLEAYDaniel Stenberg2015-03-051-2/+2
| | | | | | | SSLeay was the name of the library that was subsequently turned into OpenSSL many moons ago (1999). curl does not work with the old SSLeay library since years. This is now reflected by only using USE_OPENSSL in code that depends on OpenSSL.

* ssl: generalize how the ssl backend identifier is setDaniel Stenberg2014-07-311-10/+10
| | | | | Each backend now defines CURL_SSL_BACKEND accordingly. Added the *AXTLS one which was missing previously.
* getinfo: HTTP CONNECT code not reset between transfersMarcel Raad2014-06-101-0/+1
| | | | | | | httpproxycode is not reset in Curl_initinfo, so a 407 is not reset even if curl_easy_reset is called between transfers. Bug: http://curl.haxx.se/bug/view.cgi?id=1380

* curl_easy_getinfo: Post CURLINFO_TLS_SESSION tidy upSteve Holme2013-11-301-15/+16
| | | | | | | | 1) Renamed curl_tlsinfo to curl_tlssessioninfo as discussed on the mailing list. 2) Renamed curl_ssl_backend to curl_sslbackend so it doesn't follow our function naming convention. 3) Updated sessioninfo.c example accordingly.
* curl_easy_getopt: Handle API violation gracefullyChristian Grothoff2013-11-271-0/+3
| | | | | | | | This fixes a NULL dereference in the case where the client asks for CURLINFO_TLS_SESSION data after the (TLS) session has already been destroyed (i.e. curl_easy_perform has already completed for this handle). Instead of crashing, we now return a CURLSSLBACKEND_NONE error.
* curl_easy_getinfo: Added CURLINFO_TLS_SESSION for accessing TLS internalsChristian Grothoff2013-11-211-0/+46
| | | | | | Added new API for returning a SSL backend type and pointer, in order to allow access to the TLS internals, that may then be used to obtain X509 certificate information for example.

* build: fix circular header inclusion with other packagesYang Tse2013-01-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit renames lib/setup.h to lib/curl_setup.h and renames lib/setup_once.h to lib/curl_setup_once.h. Removes the need and usage of a header inclusion guard foreign to libcurl. [1] Removes the need and presence of an alarming notice we carried in old setup_once.h [2] ---------------------------------------- 1 - lib/setup_once.h used __SETUP_ONCE_H macro as header inclusion guard up to commit ec691ca3 which changed this to HEADER_CURL_SETUP_ONCE_H, this single inclusion guard is enough to ensure that inclusion of lib/setup_once.h done from lib/setup.h is only done once. Additionally lib/setup.h has always used __SETUP_ONCE_H macro to protect inclusion of setup_once.h even after commit ec691ca3, this was to avoid a circular header inclusion triggered when building a c-ares enabled version with c-ares sources available which also has a setup_once.h header. Commit ec691ca3 exposes the real nature of __SETUP_ONCE_H usage in lib/setup.h, it is a header inclusion guard foreign to libcurl belonging to c-ares's setup_once.h The renaming this commit does, fixes the circular header inclusion, and as such removes the need and usage of a header inclusion guard foreign to libcurl. Macro __SETUP_ONCE_H no longer used in libcurl. 2 - Due to the circular interdependency of old lib/setup_once.h and the c-ares setup_once.h header, old file lib/setup_once.h has carried back from 2006 up to now days an alarming and prominent notice about the need of keeping libcurl's and c-ares's setup_once.h in sync. Given that this commit fixes the circular interdependency, the need and presence of mentioned notice is removed. All mentioned interdependencies come back from now old days when the c-ares project lived inside a curl subdirectory. This commit removes last traces of such fact.
