* curl_threads: make it 'struct Curl_actual_call'Daniel Stenberg2020-09-021-3/+3
| | | | | | Internal names should not be prefixed "curl_" Closes #5906
* checksrc: enhance the ASTERISKSPACE and update code accordinglyDaniel Stenberg2020-05-141-2/+2
| | | | | | | | Fine: "struct hello *world" Not fine: "struct hello* world" (and variations) Closes #5386
* copyrights: fix copyright year rangeDaniel Stenberg2019-11-081-1/+1
| | | | | | | | .. because checksrc's copyright year check stopped working. Ref: https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/4547 Closes https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/4549
* curl_threads: fix classic MinGW compile breakMarcel Raad2018-09-271-3/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | Classic MinGW still has _beginthreadex's return type as unsigned long instead of uintptr_t [0]. uintptr_t is not even defined because of [1]. [0] https://sourceforge.net/p/mingw/mingw-org-wsl/ci/wsl-5.1-release/tree/mingwrt/include/process.h#l167 [1] https://sourceforge.net/p/mingw/mingw-org-wsl/ci/wsl-5.1-release/tree/mingwrt/include/process.h#l90 Bug: https://github.com/curl/curl/issues/2924#issuecomment-424334807 Closes https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/3051
* curl_threads: silence bad-function-cast warningMarcel Raad2018-08-241-1/+2
| | | | | | | As uintptr_t and HANDLE are always the same size, this warning is harmless. Just silence it using an intermediate uintptr_t variable. Closes https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/2908
* curl_threads: fix MSVC compiler warningMarcel Raad2017-08-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Use LongToHandle to convert from long to HANDLE in the Win32 implementation. This should fix the following warning when compiling with MSVC 11 (2012) in 64-bit mode: lib\curl_threads.c(113): warning C4306: 'type cast' : conversion from 'long' to 'HANDLE' of greater size Closes https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/1717
* curl_setup_once: Remove ERRNO/SET_ERRNO macrosJay Satiro2017-07-101-4/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | Prior to this change (SET_)ERRNO mapped to GetLastError/SetLastError for Win32 and regular errno otherwise. I reviewed the code and found no justifiable reason for conflating errno on WIN32 with GetLastError/SetLastError. All Win32 CRTs support errno, and any Win32 multithreaded CRT supports thread-local errno. Fixes https://github.com/curl/curl/issues/895 Closes https://github.com/curl/curl/pull/1589
* checksrc: stricter no-space-before-paren enforcementDaniel Stenberg2016-12-131-0/+1

* memdebug: Ensure curl/curl.h is included before curl_memory.hSteve Holme2016-04-011-1/+3

* free: instead of Curl_safefree()Daniel Stenberg2015-03-161-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | Since we just started make use of free(NULL) in order to simplify code, this change takes it a step further and: - converts lots of Curl_safefree() calls to good old free() - makes Curl_safefree() not check the pointer before free() The (new) rule of thumb is: if you really want a function call that frees a pointer and then assigns it to NULL, then use Curl_safefree(). But we will prefer just using free() from now on.
* mprintf.h: remove #ifdef CURLDEBUGDaniel Stenberg2015-03-031-5/+1
| | | | | ... and as a consequence, introduce curl_printf.h with that re-define magic instead and make all libcurl code use that instead.
* win32: Updated some legacy APIs to use the newer extended versionsSteve Holme2014-11-161-1/+6
| | | | | | | | Updated the usage of some legacy APIs, that are preventing curl from compiling for Windows Store and Windows Phone build targets. Suggested-by: Stefan Neis Feature: http://sourceforge.net/p/curl/feature-requests/82/
* Curl_thread_create: use Curl_safefree to allow NULL betterDaniel Stenberg2013-12-251-2/+2
| | | | | | | | free() itself allows a NULL input but our memory debug system requires Curl_safefree() to be used instead when a "legitimate" NULL may be freed. Like in the code here. Pointed-out-by: Steve Holme
* threaded resolver: Use pthread_t * for curl_thread_tLuke Dashjr2013-12-251-11/+17
| | | | | | | ... since pthread_t may be non-scalar and/or may represent a real thread with scalar 0. Bug: http://curl.haxx.se/bug/view.cgi?id=1314
* build: fix circular header inclusion with other packagesYang Tse2013-01-091-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit renames lib/setup.h to lib/curl_setup.h and renames lib/setup_once.h to lib/curl_setup_once.h. Removes the need and usage of a header inclusion guard foreign to libcurl. [1] Removes the need and presence of an alarming notice we carried in old setup_once.h [2] ---------------------------------------- 1 - lib/setup_once.h used __SETUP_ONCE_H macro as header inclusion guard up to commit ec691ca3 which changed this to HEADER_CURL_SETUP_ONCE_H, this single inclusion guard is enough to ensure that inclusion of lib/setup_once.h done from lib/setup.h is only done once. Additionally lib/setup.h has always used __SETUP_ONCE_H macro to protect inclusion of setup_once.h even after commit ec691ca3, this was to avoid a circular header inclusion triggered when building a c-ares enabled version with c-ares sources available which also has a setup_once.h header. Commit ec691ca3 exposes the real nature of __SETUP_ONCE_H usage in lib/setup.h, it is a header inclusion guard foreign to libcurl belonging to c-ares's setup_once.h The renaming this commit does, fixes the circular header inclusion, and as such removes the need and usage of a header inclusion guard foreign to libcurl. Macro __SETUP_ONCE_H no longer used in libcurl. 2 - Due to the circular interdependency of old lib/setup_once.h and the c-ares setup_once.h header, old file lib/setup_once.h has carried back from 2006 up to now days an alarming and prominent notice about the need of keeping libcurl's and c-ares's setup_once.h in sync. Given that this commit fixes the circular interdependency, the need and presence of mentioned notice is removed. All mentioned interdependencies come back from now old days when the c-ares project lived inside a curl subdirectory. This commit removes last traces of such fact.
