| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit pulls in the latest changes for the include/ and libiberty/ directories. The last sync was in commit 533da48302a26885a972e4379eccc26b364e5b53. This commit also removes the file libiberty/rust-demangle.h, this file has been removed in upstream GCC, and should have been deleted as part of the previous sync up, which included this ChangeLog entry: 2019-11-16 Eduard-Mihai Burtescu <eddyb@lyken.rs> .... * rust-demangle.h: Remove. I've grep'd over the binutils-gdb source and can find no reference to the rust-demangle.h file, and everything seems to build fine without it, so I assume its continued existence was a mistake. include/ChangeLog: Import from gcc mainline: 2020-02-05 Andrew Burgess <andrew.burgess@embecosm.com> * hashtab.h (htab_remove_elt): Make a parameter const. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | GCC's config/ChangeLog since the last time this merge was done (in the binutils-gdb commit 0b4d000cc4e8e77c823) is included at the end of this commit message. It is worth noting that the binutils-gdb commit 301a9420d947da1458 added the file config/debuginfod.m4 which is not present in GCC's config/ directory. This file is preserved, unmodified, after this commit. In order to regenerate all of the configure files, I configured with --enable-maintainer-mode, and built the 'all' target. I then did the same thing on a source tree without this patch, and only committed those files that changed when this patch was added. * Fix splay tree KEY leak detected in GDB test gdb.base/macscp.exptromey2019-02-122-3/+16
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When a node is removed from a splay tree, the splay tree was not using the function splay_tree_delete_key_fn to release the key. This was causing a leak, fixed by Tom Tromey. This patch fixes another key leak, that happens when a key equal to a key already present is inserted. In such a case, we have to release the old KEY. Note that this is based on the assumption that the caller always allocates a new KEY when doing an insert. Also, clarify the documentation about when the release functions are called. 2019-02-11 Philippe Waroquiers <philippe.waroquiers@skynet.be> * splay-tree.h (splay_tree_delete_key_fn): Update comment. (splay_tree_new_typed_alloc): Update comment. git-svn-id: svn+ssh://gcc.gnu.org/svn/gcc/trunk@268793 138bc75d-0d04-0410-961f-82ee72b054a4
* Fix leak in splay-treeTom Tromey2019-01-212-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Philippe Waroquiers noticed a memory leak in gdb, which he tracked down to a bug in splay-tree. splay_tree_remove does not call the `delete_key' function when it removes the old node; but it should. I looked at every splay tree in GCC and there is only one that passes a non-NULL delete function -- the one in lto.c. That file does not call splay_tree_remove. So, I think this is safe to check in. I re-ran the LTO tests to double check. libiberty/ * splay-tree.c (splay_tree_remove): Delete the key if necessary.

Aborting. Apparently, it's an issue with a regex in automake that triggers a warning starting with Perl 5.22. It has been fixed in automake 1.15.1. So I think it's a good excuse to bump the versions of autoconf and automake used in the gnulib import. And to avoid requiring multiple builds of autoconf/automake, it was suggested that we bump the required version of those tools for all binutils-gdb. For autoconf, the 2.69 version is universally available, so it's an easy choice. For automake, different distros and distro versions have different automake versions. But 1.15.1 seems to be the most readily available as a package. In any case, it's easy to build it from source. I removed the version checks from AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS and AC_PREREQ, because I don't think they are useful in our case. They only specify a lower bound for the acceptable version of automake/autoconf. That's useful if you let the user choose the version of the tool they want to use, but want to set a minimum version (because you use a feature that was introduced in that version). In our case, we force people to use a specific version anyway. For the autoconf version, we have the check in config/override.m4 that enforces the version we want. It will be one less thing to update next time we change autotools version. I hit a few categories of problems that required some changes. They are described below along with the chosen solutions. Problem 1: configure.ac:17: warning: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE: two- and three-arguments forms are deprecated. For more info, see: configure.ac:17: http://www.gnu.org/software/automake/manual/automake.html#Modernize-AM_005fINIT_005fAUTOMAKE-invocation Solution 1: Adjust the code based on the example at that URL. Problem 2 (in zlib/): Makefile.am: error: required file './INSTALL' not found Makefile.am: 'automake --add-missing' can install 'INSTALL' Makefile.am: error: required file './NEWS' not found Makefile.am: error: required file './AUTHORS' not found Makefile.am: error: required file './COPYING' not found Makefile.am: 'automake --add-missing' can install 'COPYING' Solution 2: Add the foreign option to AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS. Problem 3: doc/Makefile.am:20: error: support for Cygnus-style trees has been removed Solution 3: Remove the cygnus options. Problem 4: Makefile.am:656: warning: 'INCLUDES' is the old name for 'AM_CPPFLAGS' (or '*_CPPFLAGS') Solution 4: Rename "INCLUDES = " to "AM_CPPFLAGS += " (because AM_CPPFLAGS is already defined earlier). Problem 5: doc/Makefile.am:71: warning: suffix '.texinfo' for Texinfo files is discouraged; use '.texi' instead doc/Makefile.am: warning: Oops! doc/Makefile.am: It appears this file (or files included by it) are triggering doc/Makefile.am: an undocumented, soon-to-be-removed automake hack. doc/Makefile.am: Future automake versions will no longer place in the builddir doc/Makefile.am: (rather than in the srcdir) the generated '.info' files that doc/Makefile.am: appear to be cleaned, by e.g. being listed in CLEANFILES or doc/Makefile.am: DISTCLEANFILES. doc/Makefile.am: If you want your '.info' files to be placed in the builddir doc/Makefile.am: rather than in the srcdir, you have to use the shiny new doc/Makefile.am: 'info-in-builddir' automake option. Solution 5: Rename .texinfo files to .texi. Problem 6: doc/Makefile.am: warning: Oops! doc/Makefile.am: It appears this file (or files included by it) are triggering doc/Makefile.am: an undocumented, soon-to-be-removed automake hack. doc/Makefile.am: Future automake versions will no longer place in the builddir doc/Makefile.am: (rather than in the srcdir) the generated '.info' files that doc/Makefile.am: appear to be cleaned, by e.g. being listed in CLEANFILES or doc/Makefile.am: DISTCLEANFILES. doc/Makefile.am: If you want your '.info' files to be placed in the builddir doc/Makefile.am: rather than in the srcdir, you have to use the shiny new doc/Makefile.am: 'info-in-builddir' automake option. Solution 6: Remove the hack at the bottom of doc/Makefile.am and use the info-in-builddir automake option. Problem 7: doc/Makefile.am:35: error: required file '../texinfo.tex' not found doc/Makefile.am:35: 'automake --add-missing' can install 'texinfo.tex' Solution 7: Use the no-texinfo.tex automake option. We also have one in texinfo/texinfo.tex, not sure if we should point to that, or move it (or a newer version of it added with automake --add-missing) to top-level. Problem 8: Makefile.am:131: warning: source file 'config/tc-aarch64.c' is in a subdirectory, Makefile.am:131: but option 'subdir-objects' is disabled automake: warning: possible forward-incompatibility. automake: At least a source file is in a subdirectory, but the 'subdir-objects' automake: automake option hasn't been enabled. For now, the corresponding output automake: object file(s) will be placed in the top-level directory. However, automake: this behaviour will change in future Automake versions: they will automake: unconditionally cause object files to be placed in the same subdirectory automake: of the corresponding sources. automake: You are advised to start using 'subdir-objects' option throughout your automake: project, to avoid future incompatibilities. Solution 8: Use subdir-objects, that means adjusting references to some .o that will now be in config/. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While integrating the d_printing recursion guard change into gdb I noticed we forgot to initialize the demangle_component d_printing field in cplus_demangle_fill_{name,extended_operator,ctor,dtor}. As is done in cplus_demangle_fill_{component,builtin_type,operator}. It happened to work because in gcc all demangle_components were allocated through d_make_empty. Rust mangles symbols using GNU_V3 style, adding a hash and various special character subtitutions. * libiberty: demangler crash with missing :? or fold expression component.Mark Wielaard2016-11-183-0/+19
| | | | | | | | | | | | When constructing an :? or fold expression that requires a third expression only the first and second were explicitly checked to not be NULL. Since the third expression is also required in these constructs it needs to be explicitly checked and rejected when missing. Otherwise the demangler will crash once it tries to d_print the NULL component. Added two examples to demangle-expected of strings that would crash before this fix. Found by American Fuzzy Lop (afl) fuzzer.
* libiberty: Fix some demangler crashes caused by reading past end of input.Mark Wielaard2016-11-183-4/+41
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In various situations the cplus_demangle () function could read past the end of input causing crashes. Add checks in various places to not advance the demangle string location and fail early when end of string is reached. Add various examples of input strings to the testsuite that would crash test-demangle before the fixes. Found by using the American Fuzzy Lop (afl) fuzzer. libiberty/ChangeLog: * cplus-dem.c (demangle_signature): After 'H', template function, no success and don't advance position if end of string reached. (demangle_template): After 'z', template name, return zero on premature end of string. (gnu_special): Guard strchr against searching for zero characters.
