* Update copyright year range in header of all files managed by GDBJoel Brobecker2023-01-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | This commit is the result of running the gdb/copyright.py script, which automated the update of the copyright year range for all source files managed by the GDB project to be updated to include year 2023.
* gdb/testsuite: remove use of then keyword from gdb.threads/*.expAndrew Burgess2022-11-281-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | The canonical form of 'if' in modern TCL is 'if {} {}'. But there's still a bunch of places in the testsuite where we make use of the 'then' keyword, and sometimes these get copies into new tests, which just spreads poor practice. This commit removes all use of the 'then' keyword from the gdb.threads/ test script directory. There should be no changes in what is tested after this commit.
* gdb/testsuite: fix gdb.threads/linux-dp.exp regexLancelot SIX2022-10-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On ubuntu 22.04 with the libc6-dbg package installed, I have the following failure: where #0 print_philosopher (n=3, left=33 '!', right=33 '!') at .../gdb/testsuite/gdb.threads/linux-dp.c:105 #1 0x000055555555576a in philosopher (data=0x55555555937c) at .../gdb/testsuite/gdb.threads/linux-dp.c:148 #2 0x00007ffff7e11b43 in start_thread (arg=<optimized out>) at ./nptl/pthread_create.c:442 #3 0x00007ffff7ea3a00 in clone3 () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone3.S:81 (gdb) FAIL: gdb.threads/linux-dp.exp: first thread-specific breakpoint hit The regex for this test accounts for different situations (with / without debug symbol) but assumes that if debug info is present the backtrace shows execution under pthread_create. However, for the implementation under test, we are under start_thread. Update the regex to accept start_thread. Tested on Ubuntu-22.04 x86_64 with and without libc6-dbg debug symbols available. * Automatic Copyright Year update after running gdb/copyright.pyJoel Brobecker2022-01-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | This commit brings all the changes made by running gdb/copyright.py as per GDB's Start of New Year Procedure. For the avoidance of doubt, all changes in this commits were performed by the script.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On openSUSE Tumbleweed with glibc-debuginfo installed I get: ... The problem is that the regexp used: ... "\(from .*libpthread\|at pthread_create\|in pthread_create\)" ... expects the 'from' part to match libpthread, but in glibc 2.34 libpthread has been merged into libc. Fix this by updating the regexp. * Update copyright year range in all GDB files.Joel Brobecker2019-01-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py script. Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid copyright header (gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc). As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header was sent to gcc-patches first. gdb/ChangeLog: Update copyright year range in all GDB files.

* Fix test names starting with uppercase output by basic functionsLuis Machado2016-12-011-1/+1

Test names should start with lowercase unless it starts with the name of a technology, architecture, ISA etc. This first patch addresses cases of test names output explicitly via xfail, kfail, kpass, fail, pass, unsupported, untested and also names set with the pattern "set test" and "set testname". gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog: 2016-12-01 Luis Machado <lgustavo@codesourcery.com> Fix test names * Target remote mode fork and exec test updatesDon Breazeal2015-12-141-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch updates tests for fork and exec events in target remote mode. In the majority of cases this was a simple matter of removing some code that disabled the test for target remote. In a few cases the test needed to be disabled; in those cases the gdb_protocol was checked instead of using the [is_remote target] etc. In a couple of cases we needed to use clean_restart, since target remote doesn't support the run command, and in one case we had to modify an expect expression to allow for a "multiprocess-style" ptid. Tested with the patch that implemented target remote mode fork and exec event support. gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog: * gdb.base/execl-update-breakpoints.exp (main): Enable for target remote. * gdb.base/foll-exec-mode.exp (main): Disable for target remote. * gdb.base/foll-exec.exp (main): Enable for target remote. * gdb.base/foll-fork.exp (main): Likewise. * gdb.base/foll-vfork.exp (main): Likewise. * gdb.base/multi-forks.exp (main): Likewise, and use clean_restart. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As the result of the patch below, GDB updates thread list when a stop is presented to user. The tests don't have to fetch thread list explicitly. [PATCH 3/3] Fix non-stop regressions caused by "breakpoints always-inserted off" changes https://sourceware.org/ml/gdb-patches/2014-09/msg00734.html This patch is to remove the test code updating thread list.
