Running 'maintainer-all' will now automatically ensure that the #serial number
of every macro corresponds to the number of commits that have modified that
macro in the Git repository.

the Autoconf Archive is now an official GNU project.
The main home page now resides at http://www.gnu.org/software/autoconf-archive/.
The mailing lists have moved from nongnu.org to corresponding gnu.org addresses.
All files have a proper copyright statement, even AUTHORS, ChangeLog, etc.

The regular expression that verifies whether the copyright line in
doc/autoconf-archive.texi is up-to-date assumes that the date is followed by
the string "Free Software Foundation". In our case, however, the copyright
owner is "Autoconf Archive Maintainers". Eventually, the project is going to be
signed over to the FSF; then we can enable that check again.

This approach has the advantage that the Archive's installation procedure
doesn't depend on any shell-specific behavior at all; the set of available
macros is statically built into the configure script.
Gnulib's dist target ensures that this information is up-to-date whenever a
release archive is compiled.

The AUTHORS file lists the name of everyone who has submitted an m4 file
or committed to the Git repository.

Usage: ./set-serial.sh m4/ax_foo.m4 m4/ax_bar.m4 [...]
This script determines the number of revisions that have occurred to a
given m4 file, and patches an appropriate #serial number into the file
automatically. After that, the script checks whether git(1) regards that
file as modified now. If it does, the serial number is bumped one more
time to ensure that the number will be correct as soon as the changes
have been committed. Consequently, running this script on an unmodified
m4 file with correct serial number information is a no-op and doesn't
change anything.

Users typically aren't interested in the meta files like Makefile.am
etc., and if they are, the complete history is publicly available in
git.
TODO: This really ought to be done by automake.

Without it, ./configure won't work correctly because of the following code:
HTMLFILE=""
for n in ${srcdir}/html/*.* ; do
HTMLFILE="${HTMLFILE} ${n}"
done
AC_SUBST([HTMLFILE])
Arguably, this behavior is unsatisfactory, but I can't think of an ad hoc
solution that's better.

The command 'cd m4 ; ls -1 | egrep -v ^ax' generated a list of macros that have
a prefix other than AX_. These macros are obsolete now, and no valid macro is
supposed to reference any of them.
